Zahraa Bakri is Lebanese-Belgian – born into the depth and complexity of both worlds, shaped by the beauty and the weight of each. She was raised in Beirut, a city of extraordinary resilience and relentless instability, where war, displacement, and survival were simply the backdrop of ordinary life. Her nervous system never learned what safety felt like. What home felt like. What it meant to simply exist in a body and feel at peace there.
Beneath the instability of her environment lived something more personal: childhood sexual abuse that severed her from herself long before she had the language to name it. That disconnection ran deep. It showed up in her body – endometriosis, ovarian cysts, womb imbalances, reproductive pain that conventional medicine could treat but never reach the root of. It showed up in her mind – anxiety, depression, a mental landscape that darkened the further she drifted from herself. It showed up in how she moved through the world: restless, searching, numbing in the ways that women do when they have learned that feeling too much is dangerous.
All of it – the physical, the mental, the emotional – was connected. It always is.

At Enlightenment Healing, our mission is deeply intertwined with my personal journey as Zahraa, the founder of the brand. I’ve embarked on an incredible pilgrimage spanning the globe to explore the ancient traditions and sacred practices surrounding essential oils.
From the mystical lands of Mary Magdalene, known for being a mistress of the oils, in the south of France to the ancient temples of Lebanon, including the majestic ruins of Roman Phoenician temples, and the revered temples of Egypt, as well as the spiritual haven of Bali, the ancient practices of the Druids in Europe, and the rich traditions of South and Central America, my travels have been a profound exploration of the rich tapestry of human wisdom.
The Turning
Her body wasn’t failing her. It was speaking – and it would keep speaking, louder, until she finally listened.
The turning came. And when it did, she committed to it completely. She immersed herself in rigorous training across disciplines – somatic healing, subconscious and hypnotic work, womb healing, medical and energetic aromatherapy, anointing, and sound therapy. She traveled extensively, learning from wisdom keepers, master practitioners, and teachers across cultures and continents. She went searching for what actually works – because she needed it to work for herself first.
Her womb healed. Her nervous system found ground. The trauma that had lived in her body for decades began to move, release, and transform. Her sensitivity – the thing she had spent years managing, suppressing, apologizing for – revealed itself as her most powerful gift. She became what she is today: an oracle of the senses. Someone who reads the body the way others read words – fluently, precisely, without hesitation.
From that pilgrimage – inward and outward – her essential oil synergy brand was born. Crafted through years of traveling the world’s sacred sites, offering prayers at ancient temples, learning from the land itself. It was through this journey that she deepened her mastery of anointing – the sacred practice of applying oils on the body as a ritual of healing, devotion, and remembrance. Each blend is not just a product. It is a distillation of devotion.
She knows what it is to be a woman who was never taught to inhabit her body – her sensuality, her sexuality, her instincts, her power. She knows what it costs to function at a high level while quietly falling apart inside. And she knows, with absolute certainty, what becomes possible when a woman finally stops running from herself.
